Educational Background  

- Attended Pretoria Boys High School  

1972 - Obtained a BSc from Stellenbosch University , South Africa  

1981 - Obtained a Med in Adult Education from Manchester University    

Career  

1972 - Taught at Odibo Anglican Church School near the Angolan border  

1973 - Assistant to the Director of the Bureau of Literacy and Literature  

1975 - Secretary to the Christian Centre, Namibia ’s first ecumenical body.  

- Stringer for the BBC ‘Focus on Africa ’ programme  

1982 - Administrator for the London-based Namibia Refugee Project  

1990 - Worked as a public servant in the post-independence government responsible for starting (or reforming) a range of policies, programmes and institutions dealing with adult literacy, open and distance learning, adult learning, libraries and archives, arts and culture.  

Present - Under-Secretary: Lifelong Learning

 - Programme Manager of the Education and Training Sector Improvement Programme (ETSIP)
