HAMU plans, coordinates and oversees implementations of activities to mitigate the impact of HIV and AIDS within the Education Sector. Ministries of Education provide a systemic and co-ordinated planning and management response to HIV/AIDS through improved practice and resource utilization, partnerships and the creation of a dedicated HIV/AIDS management unit with the power and vision to guide education through the crisis. |
The National Institute for Educational Development (NIED) is a national resource for mobilizing both human and physical resources in improving the guality and relevance of education through innovative curriculum and materials development, and research in education and training, and by linking the Ministry of Education to the local community and Namibia to the international community in these fields. |

The Polytechnic of Namibia offers Full-time (FM), Part-time (PM), Distance Education (DE), and extra-curricular courses. Approximately 7000 students are currently enrolled at the Polytechnic. The medium of instruction is English. |
The Namibian College of Open Learning (NAMCOL) is a parastatal, educational institution created by an Act of Parliament (Act 1 of 1997) which provides learning opportunities for adults and out-of-school youths. |
